What participants asked for next
  • Overlaying procedure
  • I would like to see future CPD workshops cover advanced pavement design and rehabilitation, pavement performance assessment, practical applications of geosynthetics, soil stabilisation techniques, and sustainable and cost-effective road construction methods
  • Methods of rectification of deteriorated asphalt pavements before overlaying, and rectification of concrete pavements
  • Sophisticated design methods for intersection designs
  • Methods to reduce the delays in signalized intersections with heterogeneous traffic
  • Overlay design methods and how to gain required strength from minim layer thickness where restrictions in the depth of overlay due to access problems
In their words

What participants said

Good workshop. RMC staff is very friendly and give their best to get success of the programme. Also thankful to the chairman of RMC, to decide to share his knowledge and resources with fellow Engineers. Also his dedication towards engineering inspires youger generation. Its a privilege to participate first CPD course and looking forward to it.

It was a very good and interesting knowledge transfer session, Prof Gallage. You demonstrated the design aspects very well in the Austroads Granular pavement design and covered the research aspects comprehensively in the case of geosynthetic applications in road pavement. Thank you, Prof Gallage.

Geosynthetics for sustainable and resilient pavement. this knowledge could help to reduce the use of pavement materials in practical by using geosynthetic reinforcement layer. The pavement design method is not what we used in RDA. but the Austroad method also will help consider some points in our design method.
